Holiday 2022 Update
Hey there! It’s been a while. We’ve been hard at work building new features and updating old ones so that we can deliver the best experience possible. As 2022 comes to a close, we thought it was time to give everyone a brief update on what’s been going on and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
A few highlights:
Smerf Events
With the launch of Smerf Events 2.0 in Late Summer, our testers have been frantically competing in leaderboards, challenges, and team-based Events. They’ve won all kinds of rewards: Smerf Hats, gift card codes for virtual and in-game currency, custom artwork, Smerf Hoodies, exclusive in-app badges, and more.
We’ve been primarily focused on hosting Events for the games that our tester community loves most: League of Legends and VALORANT. However, we’re looking forward to integrating with as many titles as we can get our hands on to further support those amazing communities too.
Smerf is adding new features and types of Events all the time. We’re excited to see how our Events will evolve over time due to feedback provided by our own testers and other communities as we begin to see the growth of the in-app network of users.
New Features
Since the last time writing, we’ve added many awesome new features to the app, and brought upgrades to others. Some may seem small, but every little piece of the picture combines to create something great.
We’ve introduced an app-wide Direct Messaging system, where all your messages and Group DM’s can live in one place. Our Alert Sidebar has seen an overhaul where Community Moderation, Friend Requests, and Lobby invites can be quickly and easily accessed for our members. The Social Sidebar recently received a make-over, and is looking fresher than ever, with the added ability to collapse and expand your list of friends, communities, and groups.
We’ve implemented the Events Tab, where every featured and active Event can be found, discovered, or joined. Users can easily view all the Events they are participating in, as well as a history of all of their past events.
And there’s still so much more. We can’t wait to show you all of the cool stuff we have coming down the pipeline as Smerf continues to grow.
Streams and Social Media
Starting in the summer, Smerf kicked off our Streaming and Social Media presence after going heads down on development for much of the previous year.
On Twitch, we launched the Smerf Morning Show that ran weekdays from 8am to 12pm EST. Though it is currently on hiatus in order to give us some time to work on other things, you can expect the show to return even bigger and better than ever in the near future.
Instead, we reallocated some of our evening time on Monday and Friday and began the Smerf @ Night show, where we regularly stream ourselves laughing, playing together, and generally having a good time.
We would love to see all of you in the chat, or better yet–come play with us, everyone is welcome!
Smerf has also revitalized our Instagram and Twitter accounts with the goal of ensuring our members can access our community’s content from anywhere–including a newly created Smerf Tiktok account.

In the meantime, Smerf has soft-launched and is available for download on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. So check us out if you haven’t yet!
The Future
Smerf has so much more in store for the future that we can’t wait to share with you–including a few games currently being integrated into the Smerf ecosystem. We can’t talk too much about what those games are right now, but stay tuned in the future for more updates on new games, events, and partnerships coming to Smerf. We hope you’re as excited as we are.
